The city of Sabratha

This ancient town in the northwestern part of Libya was founded by Phoenicians about  500 BC as one of the three cities Sabratha-Oea-Leptis Magnum. In the first century AD it was rebuilt by the Romans. Today one can admire the remains of the roman forum,  Phoenician temples, theatre and the Justinian’s Basilica. Sabratha is a UNESCO world heritage site
